history
together
The Lumipol Group was founded in 2011 by Paul Krieckaert. He started with the acquisition of WB Firepacks, NPS Diesel, Morskate and SASMOS. View the historical developments and milestones below that, today, make Lumipol Group a proud group of internationally operating technology companies.
A new technology-focused investment fund has launched in the Netherlands, aiming to support growth of innovative start-ups and scale-ups. The Dutch Tech fund, named Lumaux, aims to invest in early-stage start-ups and scale-ups, active in one or more of the following market segments: robotics, energy transition and mobility. Lumaux is an initiative of the team behind Lumipol Group.
Lumipol Group is officially announcing today it has reached agreement with Yanmar, a Japanese multinational company, regarding the sale of its full share interest in ELEO Technologies B.V., a battery technology company based in Helmond, the Netherlands. Lumipol Group has played a key role as early-stage investor in ELEO by helping the company through strategic management support and providing financial resources. We wish ELEO and Yanmar all the best and success in their journey together.
From 1 March, Lars Krieckaert, brother of Tom and Sven, will start as a lawyer within the Lumipol Group and will be responsible for all legal matters within the group. Lars has worked in the legal profession for over 9 years and as such has always been involved in ongoing matters at Lumipol. Due to the growth of the Lumipol Group, legal cooperation has become more frequent and intensive and continues to increase. That is why we have decided together that the time is now right for Lars to join Lumipol.
Lumipol Group invests in ELEO (formerly SPIKE Technologies). This investment ties in seamlessly with Lumipol’s vision to accelerate sustainable powertrain solutions in various niche markets. What appeals to us is the huge potential of ELEO’s solutions in the development of electrical and hybrid applications. The participation in ELEO therefore fits perfectly with the expertise our family of companies has to offer.
A great milestone for NPS Diesel. This year they are celebrating their 30th year as a distributor of John Deere. Unfortunately, there are no festivities due to COVID-19. Congratulations on the anniversary!
As of 1 July, the day-to-day management of the companies within the Lumipol Group will be transferred by Paul Krieckaert to his sons Tom and Sven Krieckaert. They will both become statutory directors and will further expand the Lumipol Group together. This transfer creates a two-person group management setup. There are no major changes in direction. The division of roles also remains, broadly speaking, as it was. As CEO, Tom will focus on general and financial matters, while Sven, as COO, will mainly focus on day-to-day operations and commerce. As a highly invested shareholder, Paul remains involved in the direction of the business and potential acquisitions.
Van Wijk & Boerma Firepacks will continue under the new name WB Firepacks. The name change stems from the desire to use one name internationally. This falls in line with future ambitions. The new name has also resulted in a new look. A great opportunity to introduce the new logo.
In addition to the marketing and communications activities of the various companies, a conscious choice was made to actively work with the positioning of Lumipol Holding as a parent organisation. Manon Krieckaert-Nijs (married to Sven Krieckaert) will start with the marketing operations for the holding company and support the business in the field of marketing.
In August, the NPS Diesel France team in Antibes will move to a new location with more office and warehouse space.
Xeamos, initially a joint venture between NPS Diesel and Solfic, now becomes one company for aftertreatment systems. In a world in which emissions and sustainability play an increasingly important role, this appears to be the right step. Xeamos gets a new location in Wijchen and now consists of a club of about 20 enthusiastic engineers.
With an eye to the future and to ensure that everyone can continue to work happily, the NPS Diesel office in Ravenstein is being purchased and renovated. About 20 workplaces and a new training room will be created and the workshop will be expanded. For the time being there will be enough space again.
The HSA-Firepacks GmbH office building in Celle, Germany, is being acquired by Lumipol Holding.
The world of robotics is getting closer and closer. Lumipol Holding will have an additional subsidiary in Avular. They offer robotics solutions (focus on moving robots and drones, with their control and navigation systems) in a world that is only at the beginning of development.
Another new subsidiary of Lumipol Holding: Diesel Equipment Trading (DET) in Wijchen. DET is the exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi and Isuzu engines and parts in the Benelux. The arrival of DET expands the motor portfolio in the high and very low power brackets.
Since its acquisition in 2011, CIS has been an existing dormant entity. From a strategic point of view, the need has arisen to expand Lumipol Holding’s operations in India. CIS is active in the field of fibre optic applications in India, where enormous developments are expected in the field of data centres and communication.
NPS Diesel and Solfic, with joint venture Xeamos, are responding to sustainability and the total solution for power systems. Xeamos designs and produces aftertreatment systems for various applications in the marine sector, as well as other sectors. Together they create smart solutions for a cleaner world.
SASMOS has been part of Lumipol Holding since its acquisition in 2011. It was sold in 2014, but the option is there to step back in March 2017.
Since April, Zenoro has been part of MY TECH TEAM, a collaboration with De Keizer Marine Engineering and Heinen & Hopman. From a brand-new office in Antibes, a physical yacht service point will be created to support all yachts in the area.
Lumipol Holding welcomes HSA-Firepacks GmbH. HSA will become a subsidiary of Van Wijk & Boerma Firepacks. With a new German company, the German-speaking countries with the well-known product groups can also be served.
The Van Wijk & Boerma office building on Hoedemakersstraat in Zwijndrecht is being purchased by Lumipol Holding.
The Lumipol Holding team is expanded. Tom Krieckaert, Paul’s eldest son, joins as CFO of the holding. The arrival of Tom means Paul will focus more on strategic and technical choices, focused on the future.
With a view to the future, NPS Diesel France is moving to a larger office building in Pontchâteau.
Morskate will be sold on November 1. A conscious choice under the heading of ‘preparing for growth’. SASMOS is also being sold for the same reason.
Sven Krieckaert, one of Paul’s three sons, comes to work in the family business. Sven will be involved in new projects and ensure that operational matters and processes are efficiently picked up and deployed.
With the acquisition of WB Firepacks, NPS Diesel, Morskate and SASMOS, the start of Lumipol Holding becomes a reality on 26 August. Paul Krieckaert started Lumipol Holding based on his technical background and knowledge of the acquired companies. Armed with this knowledge and experience, he tries from the start to bring the companies to a higher level at both strategic and operational level.
